89 grams for everyday use: our PAX Mini 2 experience
How it feels: The PAX Mini 2 is so small that you almost forget about it - until you need it. It is ready after 22 seconds, the vibration alerts you, and the first draws are clean and surprisingly powerful for its size. The half oven lid is especially practical for everyday use: for a few draws between activities, simply use less material without leaving it loose in the chamber.
Quick verdict on the PAX Mini 2
- +Very compact and discreet: 9.3 cm tall, only 89 g

What the PAX Mini 2 feels like in everyday use
The Mini 2 is a device for everyday use in between. Here we show you how to get the most out of it.
From filling to the last draw
Where the Mini 2 makes the most sense
- This is where its 89 g really shine
- Odor-proof bag for discretion
- Battery level by shaking
- For longer sessions, a hybrid device is more suitable
- Good as a second device
- Magnetic charging at your desk
- Ready in 22 seconds
- Half Oven Lid for a few draws
- Auto-Off preserves the battery
What makes the Mini 2 stand out in everyday use
- The Half Oven Lid is one of the most useful details in the entire PAX range.
- With a conduction device, the grind size makes a big difference.
- The short heat-up time means you use it more spontaneously than larger devices.
- Moist or coarse material clogs the airpath more quickly.
Classic beginner mistakes
- Using coarsely ground material – the chamber needs contact with the wall.
- Using the standard lid for small amounts instead of the Half Oven Lid.
- Planning to use the Mini 2 for long sessions at a time.
- Replacing the chamber screens too rarely.
Four heat levels instead of just on or off
The first PAX Mini had a fixed automatic profile. With the Mini 2, you can choose directly on the device between 180, 190, 200 and 215 °C. The controls remain typically PAX: one button, the LED shows the level, done.
| Level | Character | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|
| 180 °C | mild, rich in terpenes, cooler vapor | Start of a fresh fill |
| 190 °C | flavorful with a little more vapor | calm draws in between |
| 200 °C | balanced | the everyday range |
| 215 °C | strong and dense | nearly empty chamber |
22 seconds to the first draw
The Mini 2 is clearly designed for short sessions. After switching it on, it reaches temperature in 22 seconds – you take a few draws and put it away again. In everyday use, this short wait is precisely the difference between a device you use spontaneously and one that sits in a drawer.

An accelerometer detects when you are no longer using the device and switches it off automatically. The same sensor shows you the battery level when you give it a quick shake. The haptic feedback discreetly indicates when the Mini 2 is ready.
The chamber: two lids for 0.25 or 0.5 g
Alongside the standard oven lid, a Half Oven Lid is included. It reduces the chamber from around 0.5 g to approximately 0.25 g. The advantage: The material sits compactly in the chamber and is heated evenly instead of lying loose in an oversized space. According to the manufacturer, the Mini 2 reaches up to 2.5 mg vapor density (TPM) per draw.

With a conduction device, the filling is crucial: The herbs are heated through contact with the chamber wall. Grind your material fairly finely and fill the chamber so that it contacts the wall without being compressed.
Technology: Conduction with optimized oven design
Unlike the PAX Four and PAX Flow, the Mini 2 uses pure conduction. The redesigned oven construction ensures consistent heat distribution and prevents hotspots. The result is even vapor with consistent flavor throughout the session – and the reason for the short heat-up time. We explain how the heating methods differ in Convection, conduction, and hybrid.
- Heating system: Conduction with optimized oven design · Heat-up time: 22 sec
- Temperature: 180 °C, 190 °C, 200 °C, 215 °C
- Filling chamber: 0.25–0.5 g depending on the oven lid · up to 2.5 mg TPM per draw
- Battery & charging: up to 60 minutes · magnetic USB-C charging cable, approx. 90 minutes
- Controls: One-button control, brightness-adjustable LED, haptic feedback
- Sensors: Accelerometer for automatic shutoff and battery-level indication by shaking
- Dimensions & weight: 9.3 × 3.1 × 2.2 cm · 89 g
Battery and magnetic charging
A single charge provides up to 60 minutes of vaping time, depending on the selected setting and drawing behaviour. It charges via the included magnetic USB-C charging cable in around 90 minutes. The magnetic connector snaps into place correctly by itself – faster than plugging it in, and the port does not wear out.

Where the PAX Mini 2 fits in
The PAX Mini 2 is the brand's smallest device: 89 g, four settings from 180 to 215 °C, ready in around 22 seconds and featuring a Half Oven Lid for half loads. Compared with the first PAX Mini, it offers four selectable temperature settings instead of a fixed automatic profile. It is designed for short, discreet sessions and relies entirely on conduction.
Keep your PAX Mini 2 clean
If you use moist or coarsely ground material, you should clean more often to keep the airpath clear.
