What sets Herb Ripper apart from many other grinders: it doesn’t use anodized aluminum. On aluminum grinders, the anodized coating on the teeth can wear off over time; with the Herb Ripper, the teeth and body are made from the same solid steel. Since the 2023 generation, the precision-machined teeth have been sharper and more durable, and the grind is between fine and medium according to the manufacturer. A magnet in the lid provides around 4.2 kg of holding force, while O-rings ensure smooth operation.

3-piece Classic: screenless, 51 mm format
The Herb Ripper 3-Piece Stainless Steel Grinder is the compact Classic version, measuring approximately 51 mm in diameter and 35 mm in height. The lid, grinding chamber, and collection chamber are made of medical-grade stainless steel. It intentionally has no pollen screen: all the ground herb falls directly into the chamber, ready to go straight into your herb chamber. The chamber is deeper in the current version, so it can hold more ground herb at once. A quick thread connects the grinding chamber and collection chamber, so you can open it with just a few turns. Classic 4-piece: micro screen and pollen chamber
The Herb Ripper Stainless Steel Grinder, 4-Piece has a dedicated screening stage beneath the grinding chamber. The ground herb lands on a removable micro screen, and the fine particles fall through into the pollen chamber below. A small stainless steel agitator ball sits on the screen: as you turn and shake the grinder, it rolls over the mesh and keeps it clear, so you don't need to use a brush. The optimized threading reduces jamming if residue builds up along the edges over time. Simply remove the screen and ball for cleaning or replacement.
XL with 64 mm and wear parts
The Herb Ripper XL Stainless Steel Grinder, 3-Piece offers more surface area and more teeth in its grinding chamber, measuring around 64 mm. Grind larger portions in one go, for example when preparing several loads for the day - ideal for home use, while the Classic is more convenient on the go. The XL also has no screen. If the fit becomes loose or a screen gets clogged, the Herb Ripper Wear Parts Set replaces the agitator ball, O-ring, friction ring, screen, and scraper. The set is available for Classic (51 mm) and XL (64 mm), and fits all Herb Rippers with an HR logo on the lid sold since October 2023.
