The Herb Ripper 3-piece stainless steel grinder is the classic version from the US manufacturer in Cincinnati, in a handy 2-inch format with a diameter of around 51 mm. The lid, grinding mechanism, and collection chamber are made entirely of medical-grade stainless steel. This version deliberately does not have a pollen screen: all the ground material goes directly into the chamber and is ready for your herb chamber right away.

All stainless steel, no coating

Many grinders are made of aluminum with an anodized surface, and this layer can wear off the teeth over time. The Herb Ripper has no coating that can come off - the grinding teeth are made of the same solid stainless steel as the housing. This makes the grinder heavier than an aluminum model, but it stays dimensionally stable and corrosion-resistant. It is made in the USA.

Sharper teeth since the 2023 generation

With the 2023 revision, Herb Ripper made the tooth geometry sharper and more robust, making the material easier to cut. The teeth are machined, which keeps them smooth, while the housing gets a matte finish by hand. According to the manufacturer, the grind is between fine and medium, suitable for most herb chambers. If you want it finer, simply turn it a few more times.

9.2 pounds of holding force in the lid

The lid contains a magnet with a stated 9.2 pounds of pull force, which is around 4.2 kg. This keeps the lid securely attached to the grinding chamber, even in your bag. Strategically placed O-rings ensure a precise fit between the parts and smooth turning. A quick-release thread connects the grinding chamber and collection chamber, and you can open it with just a few turns.

Deeper chamber without pollen screen

The collection chamber is deeper in the current version, so it can hold more ground material at once. Because the 3-piece Herb Ripper has no screen, nothing is separated out – all the material goes into your Vaporizer. If you want to collect fine particles separately, choose the 4-piece Herb Ripper stainless steel grinder with a micro screen and pollen compartment.

Clean the teeth with a toothbrush and a little dish soap – this is also what the manufacturer recommends, because a dishwasher can hardly reach the gaps. Don’t scrub too hard over the magnet. And let all the parts dry completely before reassembling the grinder.
