Solo 3 V2.0 experiences: Session device and On-Demand in one
From our test: The Solo 3 V2.0 feels like an Arizer that has finally become faster. The glass flavor is exactly what the brand is known for – clean, without any off-taste. The new feature is the speed: instead of waiting, the device is ready after just a few seconds. And the On-Demand mode changes how you use it: you may reach for it for just two draws, where you would previously have started an entire session.
Solo 3 V2.0 at a glance: strengths, weaknesses, verdict
- +All-glass vapor path – the clear, unadulterated Arizer flavor
- +Hybrid heating with around 80% convection, ready in just 5–15 seconds

The Solo 3 in everyday use: our hands-on experience
The Solo 3 can do two very different things - long sessions and individual draws. Here, we show what that feels like in everyday use.
How a typical session works
At home, on the go, in between
- Its real strength: long sessions with the taste of glass
- With the Frosted tube directly on the water pipe
- The display rotates with the device when it is upside down
- More suited to a jacket or backpack than a pants pocket
- Transport tubes in the travel tubes
- Several pre-filled tubes instead of loose material
- On-Demand mode instead of a full session
- Nothing vaporizes unused between draws
- Ready in just a few seconds
What stands out in everyday use
- The battery life is so generous that you are more likely to forget charging than miss it.
- If you're coming from the Solo 2 MAX, you can simply keep using your tubes and screens.
- The On-Demand mode is more than just an extra - it makes the Solo 3 a device you reach for more spontaneously.
- Glass requires some care: When traveling, always keep the tubes in the travel tubes.
Common mistakes with the Solo 3
- Leave the tube inserted in the device during transport.
- In Session mode, take individual draws and let the rest of the time vaporize - that's what On-Demand is for.
- Not replacing the screens for too long: A hard draw is almost always a screen problem.
- Simply blow out the glass tubes instead of regularly soaking them in isopropanol.
Heating system: 80/20 hybrid and heats up in seconds
Arizer calls the new technology Instant Heating Ceramic Convection. This refers to a hybrid heater in which the herbs are heated approximately 80% by hot air and around 20% by contact heat. This combines the clean taste of hot air with the heat reserve of the heated chamber - and produces dense vapor without combustion.

The most noticeable effect in everyday use is the speed: Depending on the target temperature, the Solo 3 is ready in around 5 to 15 seconds. For a device you pick up for a few draws in between, that makes a real difference. You can find more about heating methods in the knowledge article Convection, conduction, and hybrid.
- Heating system: Instant Heating Ceramic Convection, hybrid with approx. 80% convection / 20% conduction
- Temperature: 40–220 °C, selectable in 1- or 10-degree increments · Heat-up time: approx. 5–15 sec
- Modes: Session mode with 3 programmable presets, On-Demand mode with adjustable temperature and heating duration
- Display: large color display, real-time display in On-Demand mode, automatic inversion
- Vapor path: entirely made of glass · Compatible with XL Glass Aroma Tubes and Air/Solo tubes
- Battery: up to 3 hours in Session mode or over 100 draws on demand · USB-C PD (5 V, 3 A), Use While Charging
- Material: Aluminum housing, stainless steel components, glass vapor path · Colors: Intergalactic, Sea of Green
Session mode or On-Demand: two devices in one
The biggest innovation compared with older Solo generations is that you can choose between two fundamentally different ways of using it:
- The device maintains the temperature for a fixed period
- Long, smooth, and flavorful draws
- Three programmable presets for rapid temperature changes
- Ideal for a quiet session at home
- Heats only when you want to draw
- Fast, powerful individual draws
- Temperature and heating duration can be freely programmed
- No material is vaporized unused between draws
With the Session Toggle, you can see at any time how much time remains and extend the current session - without changing your Auto-Off setting for future sessions. The Solo 3 remembers your settings for the next start.
Glass vapor path and XL tubes
As with all Solo devices, the vapor in the Solo 3 passes through a glass tube, which serves as both the filling chamber and mouthpiece. Plastic or glue is practically absent from the vapor path - which is why Arizer has been considered a benchmark for pure flavor for years.

New is the XL Glass Pod System: The XL tubes hold approximately twice the amount of the previous Air/Solo tubes and provide more airflow. If you prefer smaller portions, simply continue using the classic tubes - both sizes are included and fit the Solo 3. For pre-portioning, PVC travel tubes are available in 70 and 90 mm.
Water filter: 14-mm connection with rotating display
The included XL Frosted Glass Aroma Tube also serves as a 14-mm glass-to-glass adapter. This lets you place the Solo 3 directly onto a compatible water pipe or bubbler - for especially smooth, cooled draws. It is a particularly strong combination in On-Demand mode.

A thoughtful detail: When the Inversion setting is active, the display and controls automatically rotate as soon as the device is placed upside down on the glass. For other joint sizes, reducers are available as accessories.
Battery, charging, and handling
According to the manufacturer, the Solo 3 lasts up to 3 hours in Session mode or more than 100 draws in On-Demand mode. This makes it one of the most enduring portable devices available. It charges via USB-C PD (5 V, 3 A), significantly faster than conventional 5-watt power supplies - and you can continue vaping while it charges. The suitable charger is included.
When it comes to its form factor, keep in mind: The Solo 3 is a device for a jacket, backpack, or table, not a pocket solution. The glass tube is inserted into the top of the device and should be removed when traveling and stored in the travel tube. In return, it sits comfortably in your hand and stands securely on the table.

Where the Solo 3 stands in the Arizer range
The Solo 3 V2.0 is the Arizer for anyone who wants to use the same device for classic sessions and occasional individual draws: glass vapor path, hybrid heating with around 80% convection, ready in 5 to 15 seconds, and up to three hours of battery life. It is not a pocket device - it belongs in a jacket, bag, or on a desk.
Cleaning: the advantage of the glass vapor path
Because the vapor only touches glass, there is hardly anything to clean inside the device itself. A freshly cleaned tube tastes like new again.
Solo 3 accessories: what is worthwhile
The Solo 3 is compatible with accessories from the Air and Solo ranges. If you already own an Arizer device, you can continue using many of them.
Replacement parts for everyday use
- Air / Solo screen set: The filter screens are the most important wear part. If drawing becomes difficult, a fresh screen is usually needed.
- Mouthpiece caps 4-piece set: They seal pre-filled tubes and are easily lost.
Upgrades for greater comfort
- Solo 3 XL mouthpiece 90 mm: a second XL tube to pre-fill - the easiest way to avoid refilling while out and about.
- Solo 3 Glass XL 14.4 mm adapter and Frosted glass adapter 14 mm: for connecting to a water pipe or bubbler.
- Curved glass mouthpiece: a more comfortable angle when the device is sitting on the table while vaping.
- Softshell case: protects the device and glass while you're out and about.
