The stainless steel metal filter is located in the mouthpiece area of the XMax V3 Nano and performs two tasks at once: It holds back fine particles and also secures the glass mouthpiece. It is used together with two sealing rings.
Two tasks in one component
The filter function ensures that no fine particles reach your mouth – keeping the flavor clean. At the same time, the filter serves as the holder for the glass mouthpiece: It keeps it in place so that it neither wobbles nor falls out. This dual function makes it a component that cannot be replaced simply by swapping the screen.
When the filter gives way
A worn metal filter becomes noticeable in two ways: The draw becomes more difficult because residue has built up, or the glass mouthpiece is no longer held securely. Both are good reasons for replacement – in the second case, it is even urgent, because a loose glass part is more likely to break.
Stainless steel withstands cleaning
The filter is made of stainless steel. The material easily withstands thorough cleaning with high-proof alcohol and does not deform during the process. Replacement is only worthwhile once heavier residue can no longer be removed or the filter gives way mechanically.
The sealing rings are included
The filter works together with two sealing rings that seal the connection. If one of them gives way, it allows in outside air and the vapor loses density – so check them as well when replacing the filter.
Our practical tip
Use the draw resistance as an indication of when cleaning is due, and the fit of the glass mouthpiece as an indication of when replacement is needed. Clean the filter and mouthpiece together, as both are located in the same area. When inserting them, make sure that the sealing rings are fully and evenly seated.
